Duraplugs Have Been Discontinued

The 3 pin (male and female) Duraplug connectors have been around since the 1950’s, but their use has declined over the past few years and so the manufacturer has ceased production.

Promatic were probably one of the biggest users of Duraplugs, until we started using Hirschmann male and female 4 pin and 7 pin connectors for our traps and radio receivers a few years ago.

Promatic will be exclusively using Hirschmann 4 pin plugs and sockets.

Note. There is at least one other type of 3 pin connector similar to a Duraplug connector, BUT they are NOT directly compatable with Duraplug connectors. We have no plans to stock them.

Traps and Radios received back at Promatic for service will now be fitted with Hirschmann

From now on, when we receive a trap back for service and the Duraplug 3 pin socket needs replacing, we will be fitting a Hirschmann 4 pin socket and will send customers a Hirschmann plug to convert their Foot Switches / Command Cable / Radio Receiver to Hirschmann. Similarly, when we receive a radio receiver back for service and the Duraplug 3 pin plug needs replacing, we will now be fitting a Hirschmann 4 pin plug and we will send customers a Hirschmann socket to convert their trap to Hirschmann.
